Happy Holidays From Cambium

Holiday Season All Year Round

The holiday season is truly a special time of the year that not only brings us together with family and friends, but also serves as a way to ease into the new year with distractions such as presents, office parties, and what feels like unlimited sweet treats.

It’s also a time when many people celebrate special holiday traditions and take part in festive activities. Here at Cambium, we thought it would be fun to take a look at some of those things and see if we can apply the same principles to your everyday marketing efforts.

Don’t worry, we aren’t suggesting you start listening to Mariah Carey in July.

Give Back To Others

If the holidays are about one thing for most people, it’s spreading goodwill and cheer to others. That includes finding ways to help those less fortunate and giving back when we can. The same can be applied year-round by ensuring that you establish a charitable component for your company/business or at the very least, make sure you are participating in some level of philanthropy.

“72% of consumers would recommend a brand that supports a good cause over one that ....” (1) Giving back as a company can also help strengthen your connection to your community and allow your employees to feel a greater sense of purpose by allowing them to be directly involved.

Take Time To Reflect

The final months of the year usually have most people looking back at their year and reflecting on the ups and downs. It’s a time when we post our year in review through photos on Instagram, or share our Spotify wrapped highlighting the songs we listened to the most. There is a sense of completion and moving on from one phase to the next.

That all being said, you should regularly reflect on your own marketing and advertising strategies throughout the year. Taking a step back to analyze and discuss what has worked and what hasn’t is a very important part of any marketing plan. If you aren’t paying attention to your analytics and constantly tweaking your methods, there is no better time to start than now!

Deck the Halls

“It’s a beaut Clark!”

From going all out on lighting up our houses and Christmas trees, to decorating and finding that perfect holiday outfit, this time of year is when we put our best foot forward and strive to reach that perfect aesthetic.

The same should apply to your company’s presence across all relevant platforms, such as social media, Google, and your website. Showcase the best of the best when it comes to telling your story, and do it through high quality and engaging content.

Making sure you are reviewing your content needs and keeping your social media profiles updated periodically are two examples of ensuring that what your customer’s see when they find you is the best it can be.

New Year’s Resolutions

We all look to start the new year off right with a resolve to accomplish a personal goal, try something new, or break a bad habit. While some new year’s resolutions are far more achievable than others, often times it’s the practice of setting those goals for yourself that is the true victory. It transforms your mentality and approach towards something that you’ve likely been ignoring or putting off.

The same can be applied consistently throughout the year to your company’s marketing goals. Whether you assess things each month, each quarter, or as the seasons change, the frequent process of setting new goals is key. Being committed to seeking out best practices while staying up to date on current trends is also vital in helping you stay relevant and not become stagnant.

No matter where you’re at in your current marketing efforts, it’s never too late to start implementing some of these practices. If you already are, we hope this has served as a friendly reminder to continue and stay on track.
